Our Mission, Vision & Values
Nebraska, Kansas, and Missouri face many of the same challenges across the addiction field:
- From rural to city concerns
- From wealthy to lower-income issues
- As well as inadequate funding and resources
Our chapter strives to support and works to improve the field of addiction medicine at all levels from patients and physicians, to medical institutions and local/state government.
Care
Addiction medicine professionals are in the business of helping others in need. We recognize and support your hard work as you provide care to those affected by addiction in both rural and urban areas of Nebraska, Kansas, and Missouri.
Connect
Connecting, referring, and collaborating with other addiction medicine professionals is one of the biggest benefit of joining MWSAM. Participating in online and in-person events allows us to connect with other addiction professionals in all levels of the field. Our directory allows you to reach out to someone who might have knowledge that is just what you need.
Advocate
Part of The Midwest Chapter of the American Society of Addiction Medicine’s mission is to advocate for the needs of affected patients in our region, as well as for addiction medicine professionals & the institutions we serve within. We will be engaging with local and state issues where we can make a difference for our patients, physicians at all levels, and even our institutions. We also encourage collaboration between researchers and practitioners, among physicians and nurses in one region, and across state lines.
